Javier Ramirez is a 2019 RHP with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Bainbridge Island, WA who attends Bainbridge HS. Strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. Works from the stretch with an exaggerated high back elbow start, quick and compact arm action to a tight high 3/4's arm slot, hides the ball well from the hitters and creates some downhill angle. Fastball topped out at 85 mph and was mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Best secondary pitch was a mid to upper-70's change up that had proper velocity and hard diving action at times, could throw this pitch more often. Still developing feel for a sweeping curveball. Threw his fastball consistently for good strikes and competed well. Good student.
