Glenn Ballard is a 2009 OF/1B with a 5'7'', 145 lb. frame from Houston, Texas, who attends Memorial High School. Ballard is a very young (2009) player with a lean and athletic frame. Defensively he has quick actions in the outfield. He moves with fluid movements and shows instincts and range. He runs well which helps him defensively and on the bases. He gets down the line quickly, and shows instincts to take the extra base. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance. Ballard is a contact hitter who sprays the ball to all fields. He makes consistent contact and keeps his hands inside the ball allowing him to easily hit to the opposite field. He has quickness with his hands on pitches on the inner half. He stays balanced through his swing, and has good upside with the natural strength gains that will come.
