Carlos Lopez is a 2019 C/RHP/3B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends North Dallas HS. Medium frame with a solid, strong build. Primary catcher with smooth paced footwork while working out of crouch. Loose glove to hand exchanges and works to a taller throwing position. Created some carry to the bag topping at 75 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.00. Right handed hitter with rotational swing actions. Displayed good strength with a lifted barrel path to contact. Showed solid bat speed with the strength to drive the ball through the outfield gaps. Also pitched utilizing a compact arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Flashed good arm speed through extension with a fastball offering that generated riding life in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 miles per hour. Showed good feel for an 11/5 curveball that had tight sweeping shape in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering in the low 70's. Worked quickly and repetitively attacked the zone with all three offerings. Good student as well.
