Reese Acord is a 2023 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Holland, PA who attends Holy Ghost Prep. Recorded a 4.95 second forty-yard dash time. Large, physical frame with well-proportioned strength throughout and room to fallout. Primary left-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a over-the-head pump and higher leg lift into balance. Incorporates drop-and-drive lower half mechanics and good stride length down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-80s for the duration of his outing, flashed exploding life out of the hand and topped out at 83 mph from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Proficient strike thrower with some downhill plane and angle to his fastball, mixed in still developing breaking ball that had 2-8 shape to it and gradual depth. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and refinement of his secondary offerings. Secondary first baseman with good footwork around the bag, a slightly deeper funnel and the ability to change arm angles when necessary. Recorded online, accurate throws up to 82 mph across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with an exaggerated high hand set, high back elbow and knee-to-knee trigger. Incorporates good lower half movements into contact and displays plenty of present bat speed. Pullside approach with slightly lofted stroke and some adjustability with the barrel, exhibits strength at impact and has loads of power potential to that side. Solid, overall prospect with tons of physicality and upside on both sides of the ball. Will continue to improve with minor refinements both on the mound and at the plate. Excellent Student.
