2021 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 14)
Rodolfo Martinez Jr. is a 2022 C/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends iMater Charter. Recorded a 7.55 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with present lower half strength. Primary catcher that receives from a one-knee kickstand stance with soft hands and early movements towards his target. Displays fairly quick mid-line transfers with uphill movements into the throwing position. Works his way into an over-the-top arm slot and recorded arm strength up to 74 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Incorporates good weight shift and rotational lower half mechanics into contact. Middle-to-opposite field approach with slightly elongated swing path, some feel for the barrel and legitimate power potential to the middle and right side of the field. Solid overall skill set with big-time power potential and some upside on both sides of the ball. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and minor refinements defensively.
