Owen Mortensen is a 2020 C/RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Riverton, UT who attends Bingham HS. Big and strong athletic build, pretty ideal for a primary catcher. 7.04 runner, has athleticism and quickness on defense and plays with lots of energy, has lower half flexibility, will get too wide in his stance at times, receives the ball cleanly out front, strong arm and made accurate game throws consistently. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance, has a simple trigger and swing, gets extended and gets the barrel out front, repeats his timing well and stays balanced, line drive swing plane, ball gets some jump off the barrel with his bat speed and strength. Also pitched, has a compact and quick arm action and a simple delivery. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight. Best curveballs were thrown with the higher velocities, will slow arm at times. Has some talent on the mound to develop.
