Trevor Romaine is a 2019 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Laurel, MD who attends Reservoir. Medium and very athletic build, square shoulders and more room to fill moving forward with added strength. Ran a 5.22 40 yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields out front with loose and fluid actions, quick to the baseball with longer strides, good footwork throughout and very smooth all around, average arm strength with good carry and accuracy to the bag, topped out at 78 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, short side step to a high leg lift, coils at balance point, clean arm action up to a high 3/4 slot, clean take back and arm works well, leads with hip down the mound but could get more from lower half, gets good use from front side in delivery, fastball is straight, mixed in a good tight curveball, filled up the zone with lots of strikes during outing. Righthanded hitter, exaggerated open stance, hands load deep, gets closed with trigger from lower half, loose and easy swing, could get more from lower half for added bat speed and more pop off of the barrel, good barrel skills with line drive contact to all fields. Outstanding student.
