Aaron Deutsch is a 2007 RHP/IF with a 5'8'', 170 lb. frame from Ollie IA, who attends Pekin HS. He has a strong upper body and mature overall build. Deutsch throws from an upper body rotational delivery with a long, slinging arm action and extended 3/4's release point. His arm action shows the ball to the hitter in back of his body and lets the hitter see the ball and time his swing. Deutsch tends to fall off some on release to the first base side. His fastball was 76-78 mph and was mostly straight. Deutsch's off-speed pitch was a 64 mph curveball with a short 10-4 break to it. We didn't see a change up. He threw strikes with both pitches and made hitters swing the bat. Offensively, Deutsch hits from a calm approach with a slightly open stance. He has a line drive swing plane and did a good job of making contact, especially against some of the harder pitchers at the event.
