Cooper Jacobs is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-2 184 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Chaparral. Large frame with present strength in build and square shoulders. Ran a 6.86 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch and a medium leg lift to the belt. Works to the plate with drop and drive actions landing in line down the mound and carrying momentum to the plate. Clean arm action in the back and into a three-quarter release. Fastball comes out of the hand well creating some heavy sinking life through the zone and topping out at 81 MPH. Curveball offering showed both a 10-to-5 shape as well as an 11-to-5 shape at times with depth when staying on top of the baseball. Also worked out as a secondary outfielder with shorter athletic strides to the ball. Deeper funnel off to the side and into clean exchanges. High effort release creating solid online carry to the bag at 85 MPH. Righthanded hitter with a wide stand and high hand set. Utilizes a short toe tap trigger for timing. Gets into load early and works to contact with a compact rotational path. Shoots contact mostly to the opposite field. Very good student as well.
