Martin Rodriguez is a 2019 OF/MIF with a 5-6 135 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Carnegie Vanguard HS. Medium frame with athletic, slender build; ran 60 yard dash in 6.83 seconds. Hits from open-based stance with good balance, consistent line drive swing plane with beginnings of leverage off of front side, does a good job covering the plate, good looseness to swing with extension through the zone, does a very good job of using the whole field with some line drive jump off the barrel. Worked in the outfield defensively, athletic actions and movements, works through the ball well and fields cleanly, good accuracy on throws with quick release, clocked up to 80 mph. Good student.
