Tyler Hunter is a 2021 3B/RHP, IF with a 6-2 187 lb. frame from Oakland, CA who attends Bishop O Dowd. Ran a 7.56-second sixty-yard dash. Primary third baseman with a strong frame and present athleticism. Moves well with with good athleticism through the fielding process, showcasing strong glove actions and good range. Throws from across the diamond from an over top slot at 81 miles per hour. Right-handed hitter that starts from a slightly open stance, swinging with intent to drive the baseball with naturally lifted barrel plane through the zone. Can impact to and through the pull-side gap, using g the lower half well and showcasing good power potential as well. Also pitched, working exclusively from the stretch with weight on the back side. Comes set with the the hands behind the back hip, using clean and repeatable mechanics to throw strikes. Has a short and clean arm stroke in the back, releasing from an over the top slot. Fastball at 77-81 miles per hour flashes some arm-side run. Tunnels a curveball well with big downer shape and late depth through the zone in the upper-60s. Developing feel for the strike zone with secondary offering, some projection as two-way player. Good student.
