Matt Lackie is a 2008 RHP with a 6'3'', 210 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends McKinney North HS. He has a big framed, strong pitcher's build and looks taller and leaner than his listed size. Lackie has a full windup and leg kick with an upright finish and high 3/4's release point that gives his pitches very good downward angle. His arm is loose and projects well as he gets stronger. Lackie's fastball had hard sinking action in the upper 80's and he had good command of it. His 72 mph curveball flashed very good downer spin and hard bite and had good size as well. He also showed some feel for a live change up. Lackie has a good idea what he's doing on the mound and is a polished pitcher with three solid pitches. He projects some velocity gains and needs to be followed closely. Lackie is also a good student.
