2021 NorCal Workout Camp (Saturday)
Tyler Ohlson is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from San Jose, CA who attends Santa Teresa. Large to Extra Large frame with a strong build showing broad shoulders and a sturdy lower half. Ran a 7.19 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, working into a side-step to a belt high lift as he does a great job staying balanced throughout the delivery. Drives off of back side and then released from a higher three-quarter slot. Whip to the arm as he projects plenty more velocity in the future. Flashed feel for a three pitch mix. Fastball up to 82 mph that jumped out of hand as he lived down in the zone. Mixed in a very sharp slider that had late tilt and a tumbling changeup as well. Upside on the mound and projects here going forward. Secondary Outfielder, took efficient routes to and through the baseball as he carried weight well into throws. Full arm action as he released with intent and proved to have a strong arm. Threw it 87 mph during drills with accuracy. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced and in line. Loads deep and down before striding out. Longer path to the zone as he proved to have some power in the swing when on time. Showcased he could simplify and drive it to the opposite field on a line. Good Student. Named to NorCal Workout Camp Top Prospect List.
