Connor Cook is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-4 165 lb. frame from Boise, ID who attends Centennial HS. Tall frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and utilized lower half well while driving to t he plate. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing some downhill plane through the zone with occasional run to arm side, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball displayed looser spin with good depth in the upper 60's. All flashed a tighter spinning slider that flashed good tilt to glove side int he low 70's. Tends to slow arm speed with a changeup offering that created occasional sink to the bottom of the one as well. Consistently looked to challenge hitters while working to the bottom quadrants of the zone. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions at pick up and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Displayed quick hands through the zone on a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Swung with intent and looked to drive the baseball to the gaps. Very good student as well.
