Tyler Hallenbeck is a 2019 LHP with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Grandville, MI who attends Grandville HS. Large frame with physical present build; good strength throughout. Primary lefthanded pitcher; loose arm stroke through the back to three quarters arm slot release, hides ball well through the back and creates angle to the plate. Fastball worked 79-82 mph with impressive arm side life; can act as a sinker when located to bottom of the zone. Did a very good job of pounding zone with fastball. Showed frisbee slider with good shape and spin; gets two-plane at times as well. Showed changeup with quality arm side fade as well. Sets up to hit from even stance with high hand set at toe tap trigger, stays even through stride, hands work well into swing when on time, showed some pop to the pull field when squared up. Good student, named to 2017 Great Lakes Showcase Top Prospect List.
