Matthew Wilson is a 2020 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from La Mirada, CA who attends La Mirada HS. Big strong broad shouldered build, mature look physically. Right handed hitter, slightly open stance, upper body rotational swing, deep hand bar load, double toe tap, lots going on before his swing gets started, long and loose strength driven swing, looks to pull the ball and drive it. Young footwork defensively at first base, has a long and loose arm action with good carry on his throws, fields from a wide base and stays in front of the ball well. Also pitched, compact arm action from a high 3/4's slot, good extension through release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life, threw only one curveball but it had good depth to it and can be used more often. Good student.
