Connor Nekola is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Shawnee, KS who attends Mill Valley. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.83 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange well. Generated good momentum to the bag while released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 85 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple front side trigger. Loose, extended hand path to contact with a level plane through extension. Created some leverage at contact when working to contact out front. Primarily looked to work between the gaps but flashed the developing barrel feel to work to all fields. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and works to the plate with tall and fall actions. Long arm circle at take back and released from a loose three-quarters slot. Lands in line well and carries momentum to target. Fastball flashed some downhill angle through the zone in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with loose spin and some depth in the low 70's. Breaking ball flashed sharper depth when maintaining arm speed through extension. Consistently filled the strike zone and challenged hitters. Excellent student.
