Patrick Shearer is a 2019 RHP/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Highland Park HS. Physically projectable frame with long limbs and room to fill out and add strength to the build. Primary righthanded pitcher with a quick windup into the release. Leg lift up to the belt and is able to consistently work the bottom of the strike zone. Long and loose arm stroke with good downhill angle on the fastball. Quality curveball with tight spin and late break out of the strike zone. Now wasted motion toward the plate and pounded the strike zone to lead to many uncomfortable at-bats for the opposing hitters. Righthanded hitter with a crouched, open stance. High hand set and a high back elbow with a simple path to contact. Line drive swing plane and looks to turn the barrel to contact. Simple trigger into the swing and flashed quality bat speed through the point of extension. Wore out the pull side of the field and stayed on plane well. Named to the 2017 South Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
