2020 World Uncommitted Showcase (2020 Grads)
Matthew Boult is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 6-2 240 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends North Shore. Extra large and physical frame, strength to lower half especially. Ran a 7.55 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, pitches exclusively from the stretch, pitches with intent, takes his arm back to a compact arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot, hides the ball well through the back, takes a short stride down the mound, fastball topped out at 83 mph with the ability to pitch to either side of the plate effectively, fastball showed best life when thrown to the lower third of the plate, mixes in a curveball that flashes tightness to it, maintains velocity. Secondary first baseman, athleticism at the position with good footwork into turns to second, accurate and loose arm with plenty of arm strength. Lefthanded hitter, leg lift trigger into contact that creates plenty of bat speed, combines bat speed with strength for powerful impact to pull side, loud barrel when squared and showed best juice when meeting the baseball out in front, 94 mph exit velocity was an event best, may show most potential with the bat long term. Good student. Named to 2020 World Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List.
