Daniel Garza is a 2020 RHP/IF/OF with a 5-11 152 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Dobie HS. Recorded a 7.53 60-yard dash. Medium frame with present room on the body to fill out and add strength. Primary pitcher with a long arm action and released from a three-quarter arm slot. Has quality extension down the mound and can locate well to the glove side. The fastball was up to 84 mph and showed occasional cut. Curveball was effective as a secondary pitch with good depth and was effective at garnering swings and misses. Arm strength played well in the outfield with online carry and accuracy. Moves well with solid exchanges and transfers. Balanced stance with a high hand set at the plate. Swing showed looseness and is looking to drive the ball in the air; swing and offensive tools project well. Named to the 2017 Sunshine South Showcase Top Prospect List. Great student.
