Nolan Inouye is a 2020 3B/RHP with a 5-8 200 lb. frame from Clovis, CA who attends Clovis North. Medium frame with broad shoulder and a solid build with strength. Primary third baseman, stays low while traveling to the baseball with deliberate footwork. Funnels the baseball cleanly out front and works through transfer with loose, clean exchanges. Released from a smooth arm stroke topping at 78 miles per hour. Throws created on line, accurate carry across the infield. Right handed hitter with a spread, crouched stance. Stays balanced throughout swing and launches to contact with rotational lower half actions. Hands start at a slightly lower slot and work to contact on a direct path. Barrel comes through the zone on a naturally lifted plane with present bat speed and strength at contact. Consistently swung with intent while looking to lift the baseball with authority between the gaps. Repeated swing plane with ease and produced hard contact throughout batting practice. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Starts at a closed position and works to balanced with a medium leg lift. Created slight coil over back leg and worked to the plate with tall and fall actions. Front side lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to glove side at finish. Long, loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Showed good feel for the bottom quadrants of the zone with a fastball that flashed some downward angle with some run in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and depth in the upper 60's. Consistently located curveball offering to the bottom of the zone and showed the command to throw in positive and negative counts. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
