Jerson Martin is a 2023 C/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Norman, OK who attends Norman North. Large frame with broad shoulders and an athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 6.81 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground towards bag while working out of crouch with quick footwork. Quick, clean glove circle at exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws generated accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 76 mph. Best workout pop time of 1.90. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and medium leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Compact, direct hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed present bat speed and strength at contact while attack the baseball with intent. Consistently generated loud contact off the barrel with the strength to carry the gaps when squared. Named to the 2019 National Underclass Main Event Showcase, Top Prospect List.
