Grayson Murry is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Flint, TX who attends The Brook Hill School. A long and lean player, Grayson is a physically gifted athlete who is on a great course for success in the game. Grayson also shows a sound dedication to the books as evidenced by his admirable academic achievement. A primary RHP, Grayson is well on his way to a certain and impressive career on the mound. His physical presence alone, provides a great foundation. He is mechanically sound and is an intimating force as he pitches down the slope with routine effort. His 3/4 to H 3/4 arm slot and his shorter arm action, coupled with his old-school core rotation and higher leg lift make his 80-86 mph fastball play faster than the radar reads. The ball appears to get on hitters before they are ready. There is some natural arm side run to his fastball and he also shows an ability to cut it as the situation dictates. Grayson has a sound two-pitch secondary mix. His 73 mph breaking ball shows 11/5 shape and has curveball spin. This hybrid breaking ball is a sound out pitch that he can throw to both sides of the plate. His 77 mph change-up is tunneled from his fastball release point and is thrown with FB arm action. His tumbling change is especially effective against LHH. Grayson also showed commendable ability on the IF. His actions play better at 3B and his future on the infield will probably be limited to a corner spot. He uses a wider base to filed and bends at the waist. He is calculated with his actions and it takes just a tick longer to combine the fielding action with the transition and throw, but he makes it work. His advanced 82 throwing velocity helps make up some time in the transition. His throws are naturally firm and are always on target. Grayson shows sound ability with the stick in his hands. He has some serious leverage in his swing. He uses a higher leg lift to help trigger. He has quick and strong hands and gets his bat to a solid contact point with relative ease and rhythm. The ball jumps off his barrel with force. He impressed some natural raw power ability that will undoubtedly improve as he gains strength and experience. Grayson is a natural hitter with plus upside. Grayson's current skill level and his noticeable ability to compete, along with his desire to improve, make him a certain top prospect who will impact at the next level.
