Drew Bowen is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 195 lb. frame from Tulsa, OK who attends Tulsa Memorial HS. He has an athletic, strong body with good width in his hips and shoulders. Bowen has a tall delivery with a short stride and a quick, 2-piece arm action. He keeps good balance and direction at release. Bowen's best pitch is a hard downer curveball at 75-77 mph that has 12/6 break and a sharp action to it. His fastball topped out at 89 mph and was pretty straight. He lacked consistency in location and feel with his fastball and we've seen him both throw harder and with better command in the past. Bowen also threw some 83 mph change ups that looked like they were maybe 2-seamers or some variation on his fastball. Bowen is a good overall athlete who shows power at the plate. He is an excellent student.
