Alec Nigut is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt. Medium frame with square shoulders. High waist and length to limbs with present strength. Ran a 7.07 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Works through the ball well with an aggressive close. Fields out and to the side and into a longer wind up transfer. Clean arm action getting on top of the ball and keeping throws and topping out at 88 miles per hour. Lefthanded hitter with a wider and even stance and utilizing a leg lift trigger for timing. Quickness in hands to the ball on a line drive plane. Rotational lower half looking to lift to the ball to the gaps. Consistently turns the barrel well and generated loud contact off the bat. Secondary lefthanded pitcher with a small side step delivery into belt high leg lift. Stays tall at the gather utilizing drop and drive actions to the plate landing in line. Long and loose arm action in the back working from a high three-quarter slot. Fastball shows heavy life working through the bottom half of the zone at 85 miles per hour. Pairs it well with a sharp 1-to-7 curveball showing feel. Excellent student as well. Named to the 2019 Pre-Draft Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Iowa.
