Elijah (Eli) Berch is a 2022 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Jackson, MS who attends Jackson Preparatory. Ran a 7.21-second sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with an athletic frame and build. Starts from an over-exaggerated side saddle stance, setting up high and exploding well out of the crouch. Has quick hands, using the lower half well and making accurate throws to second base at 76 miles per hour. Recorded a 1.88 pop time. Right-handed hitter that starts from an even base, showing some strength off the barrel with a smooth path to contact. Shows power potential in the frame with developing use of the backside at present. Swings translates to game action with multiple hard-hit balls and an aggressive approach. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works quickly in the zone, attacking hitters from a compact arm stroke and over the top slot. Shows some good life to the fastball up to 83 miles per hour, with feel to land a 12-6 curveball in the zone with frequency as well. Named to 2020 Sunshine Gulf Coast Showcase, Top Prospect List.
