Jake Burris is a 2022 C/1B, 3B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Cibolo, TX who attends Marion. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.78 seconds. Hits from spread and even-based stance, rotational in torso, middle-field approach, natural strength at contact, can drive the ball hard on a line, stays on plane well, works to all fields with strength, could get lower half more involved, good balance, solid hitting tools. Worked out behind the plate, receives and gets off quick release, arm strength is best tool, short quick stroke that gets rid of the ball quickly, clocked up to 78 mph on throws, good catch-and-throw skills. Excellent student, named to 2020 National Underclass South Top Prospect List.
