Xavier Franco is a 2022 SS/RHP, IF, OF, UT with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends St. Augustine. Compact frame with a medium build and room to add. Ran a 7.13 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Quick footwork into field out in front with soft hands. Shows range especially while working up the middle. Makes accurate throws from multiple slots while generating some carry at 82 MPH. Righthanded hitter with an even stance and sweeping leg lift trigger for timing. Hands get to the ball well with a middle of the field approach. Has some fluidity on a line drive plane swinging with some intent. Can get the ball elevated down in the zone. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a simple side step delivery into a leg lift above the belt. Lands slightly closed off down the mound and works to the plate with crossfire actions. More of a compact action in the back and into a three-quarter arm slot. Straight with the fastball at 85 MPH able to work all quadrants of the zone. Mixes in a sweeping curveball with some two plane depth at times. Good student as well. Named to the 2019 SoCal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
