Jaider Morelos is a 2019 SS with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from St. Petersburg, FL who attends Northside Christian HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, very athletic defender up the middle, balanced and athletic actions with quick and sound footwork, adjusts to hops well, shows range and ability to throw from multiple release points, soft hands out front with fluidity on the charge. Switch-hitter, more consistent swing at present from the left side. Begins with a high hand set and shift weight well through lower half at start; stays inside with hands and projects with extension out front, handles the the barrel and shows an easy swing with fluid path, worked the middle of the field with line drive contact. Movings parts to load from the right side, loose swing with fluid stroke and lift to swing, more barrel consistency from the left side at present. Good student.
