Frank Vega is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Kissimmee FL, who attends Pace HS. He has a strong body with thick, muscular hips and thighs. Vega throws from a high 3/4's release point with a long, extended arm. He has a well paced delivery but some effort on release. Vega's fastball was mostly 77-80 mph but a few got up to 83 mph when his mechanics came together. His best pitch was a 72 mph change up that had good arm speed and some sinking action. Vega's curveball was 65 mph and had a big, rolling break. He mixed up his pitches well. Vega is a good student as well.
