Jayce James is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Eufaula, AL who attends The Lakeside. Flashed a long and lanky frame with plenty of room to fill in the future. Projectable build. Ran a 6.95 second sixty yard dash. Primary Lefthanded pitcher starting with a rocker step to a belt high leg lift with his weight on his backside. Works into a fluid, long three-quarter arm slot while he finishes downhill. Showed he had more in the tank running his fastball up to 84 mph. Hid the baseball well out of hand getting plenty of swings and misses. Great pick off move as well. Good feel for the zone working the lower half. Very projectable on the mound. Secondary Outfielder showing clean fielding actions working into the baseball aggressively. Arm action over the top with throws showing carry. Accurate to the bag. Lefthanded hitter starting from an open stance with low hands. Direct swing path to the baseball. Bat speed showing with good feel for the barrel. Middle of the field approach. Outstanding Student.
