Trent Lopez is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Carlsbad. Large frame with excellent present build and good projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.62 seconds. Switch-hitter, even based stance from right side with leg lift trigger, shows good bat speed on lofted swing plane, showed ability to hit the ball into the air. A little smoother from left side with good bat speed, loose hands through swing, does a good job creating leverage off of front side. Worked out in the infield; shows solid range to both sides, deep funnel with clean hands, throws from lower slot across the diamond with quick release, clocked up to 84 mph. Pitched as well; showed long loose arm stroke to three quarters slot release, good direction to the plate with hips, fastball worked 82-86 mph with solid command. Mixed in firm changeup at 78. Good student.
