Travis Gober is a 2020 1B/RHP, C, 3B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Rockwall, TX who attends Rockwall HS. Extra large frame with broad shoulders; present physicality with a lot of room to add more strength to the build. Primary first baseman with a shorter arm action. Turns okay with quality athleticism at the position. Secondary infielder with quick hands and a quick release. Two-handed fielder with good adjustments on ground balls. Graded out best on the mound. Righthanded pitcher with a long arm action and a high three-quarters arm slot. Good sink on the fastball and locates pitches well. Mixes speeds with a feel for a four-pitch arsenal. Works exclusively from the stretch with lots of pitchability and projection. Changeup has downward action and has the ability to be a starting pitcher at the next level. Lefthanded hitter with an even, balanced stance. Big leg lift trigger into contact with a high hand set and high back elbow. Present bat speed with strength through the point of contact. Direct path and is looking to turn the barrel and lift to the pull side. Gets carry on fly balls to the pull side and gap. Quick load with occasional jump off the barrel. Ability to impact the ball hard to all fields. Named to the 2017 South Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
