Matthew Franceschina is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Kent, WA who attends Kentwood HS. Big and strong athletic body with plenty of physical projection. Good lower half coil in his delivery, arm stroke is smooth and loose, 3/4's arm slot creates some angle to the plate. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with consistent arm side running life. Change up was his best pitch, lots of fade and sink with good arm speed and release mimicking his fastball, change up got lots of weak swings. Showed good feel for throwing his curveball for strikes with a sweeping slurvy shape to it. Repeated his delivery well and worked ahead in the count to set up his change up as his out pitch. Good student.
