Kyle Grier is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA who attends Aliso Niguel HS. Large projectable frame with long limbs and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.08 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery into a medium leg lift. Long and loose arm action in the back into a three-quarters arm slot. Stays linear down the mound landing in line to the plate. Ball comes out of the hand cleanly. Sharp late life on the fastball with arm side run topping out at 86 miles per hour. Sharp slider with late lateral break. Short running changeup as well in the mid 70's. Works in on the hands to the righthanded hitters. Shows present feel of three pitches and works the edges of the zone well. Named to the 2018 West Coast Prospect Top Prospect List. Very good student as well.
