Hunter Counton is a 2018 RHP/IF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Maryville, IL who attends Collinsville HS. Slender young build, projects very well physically. Cross body delivery from the far first base side of the rubber, 3/4's arm slot, deep arm action in back with a fast arm coming through, will drift out over his front side at times and cause his arm to rush to catch up. Fastball very consistent in the mid-80's, topped out at 85 mph, gets flat running action in the middle of the zone, can work down in the zone more consistently. Curveball had big depth once he got a feel for his release point and was on time with it, effective pitch despite relative lack of velocity because of that depth. Did not observe a change up but will benefit from one in the mid-70's. Right handed hitter, rotational swing from an upright open stance, long loose swing with a middle of the field approach. Very good student.
