Logan Wensley is a 2018 LHP/OF, 1B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Bakersfield West. Medium, athletic frame with solid present build and good projection remaining. Primary pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch. Employs simple leg lift delivery with drop and drive mechanics, good lower half usage, will land closed off at times with front foot. Throws from high three quarters arm slot, repeats delivery well, generates solid angle to the plate when on top of the ball, fastball worked anywhere from 75-82 MPH, touching as high as 84 MPH. Showed good feel for sweeping, sharp slider with good tilt; also flashed more traditional curveball with quality depth and spin. Sets up to hit from straight stance with high back elbow and balanced set, line drive swing plane for the most part with occasional lift at contact, made consistent contact out front and squared the ball up well to all fields. Clean actions at the ball in the outfield with good footwork, fields cleanly and works through the ball, showed solid arm strength on throws up to 82 MPH. Also worked out at 1st base, funnels well with clean hand actions, short and quick release to both 2B and 3B with solid arm strength up to 80 MPH. Good student.
