Zach Johnson is a 2018 SS/2B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Ridge Point HS. Large frame with a lean build and beginnings of strength. Ran a 7.40 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth actions while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Funnels baseball from a slightly deeper position with clean glove actions and works through exchange quickly. Compact arm circle and primarily released from a high three-quarters slot. Flashed the ability to change arm action while on the run. Throws generated accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a balanced, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Compact hand load and works to contact with linear lower half actions. Direct hand path to contact with a level, line drive barrel plane through extension. Stayed balanced throughout while working to the middle of the field. Flashed the control and barrel feel to work to all fields when on time as well. Good student.
