Tom Grose is a 2019 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Jamestown, NC who attends Southwest Guilford HS. Recorded a 7.16 second 60-yard dash time, including a 4.32 second time to first base in game. Medium frame with some quick twitch athleticism and present strength as well. Primary shortstop with a very quick exchange and arm strength that plays up and creates good carry across. Very fast release and moves well laterally. Strong lower half with easy, sure steps to the ball and an accurate arm. Righthanded hitter who gets the barrel head out in front well. Consistent line drive contact to the pull side and showed good bat speed through the path. Looseness to the swing with a high hand set and a high back elbow. Slightly open swing with an easy swing and slight leg lift trigger into contact. Leverages well to pull and does so consistently. Named to the 2017 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Tremendous student.
