James Ward is a 2020 3B/RHP, 1B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Queensbury, NY who attends Queensbury Senior. Medium frame with strong, mature build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.41 seconds. Hits from even-based stance, swings hard with intent to do damage, violent bat speed at times, strength stands out, gets lower half involved, able to impact the ball firmly to all fields when squared. Worked out in the infield, sound fundamentals, glove works well out front, clean transfer with quick release, good arm strength, clocked up to 86 mph across the diamond. Also graded out well on the mound, repeatable mechanics, gets off of backside, fastball worked 83-84 mph with good arm side life from three quarters slot, flashed slider with good tilt and late bite as well. Good two-way upside. Named to 2019 Northeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List, very good student.
