Jordan Dem is a 2019 3B/1B, RHP with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Oak Park, CA who attends Oak Park. Large frame with broad shoulders and a strong, athletic build. Ran a 7.39 sixty-yard dash. Primary third baseman with aggressive footwork while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a deeper position and works through transition efficiently. Glove taps at gather and released from a loose three-quarters slot. Topped at 78 miles per hour generating accurate, on line carry across the infield. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Hands load to a deep position and work to contact on a loose, fluid path. Generated good leverage with present bat speed through extension. Consistently squared baseball and worked to each gap with authority throughout batting practice. Baseball had tight backspin off the barrel with very good carry when squared. Also pitched utilizing a simple leg lift delivery. Stacks back side and stays flexed on back side at gather. Utilized lower half well while working to the plate with drop and drive actions. Shorter arm circle at separation and released from a high energy three-quarters arm slot. Fastball jumped out of hand producing heavy downward action in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Showed developing feel for the edges of the plate and aggressively challenged hitters with fastball. Named to the 2017 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student as well.
