Jake Bloss is a 2019 3B/RHP, C with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Greensboro, NC who attends Early College At Guilford. Tall frame with some athleticism and strength in build and square shoulders. Worked out defensively as a primary third baseman. Quick transfer after a funnel out front. Accurate across the diamond with soft carry to the bag. Also worked out as a catcher. Sets up in a side straddle stance. Has some quickness through transfer. Throws from a compact three-quarters slot topping out at 78 miles per hour and popping a 1.94. Righthanded hitter with an even stance. Can make consistent hard contact with feel for the barrel. Present strength and gets good bat speed with jump. Power potential at the plate. Righthanded pitcher with a quick and loose arm action. Throws from an over the top slot and can get on top of the ball well. Works the edges with the fastball at 84 miles per hour. Generates swing and miss with a 12-to-6 curveball. Shows command of both. Excellent student as well.
