Christian Schmidt is a 2019 SS/3B, OF, RHP with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Panther Creek High School. Medium build, lean frame, has height, very projectable. Primary infielder, long arm action, can pick it, fields with two hands, decent transfer, some arm speed, moves well, decent arm strength. From the outfield, gains ground, works well to ball, long arm action, decent release, some arm speed, up to 80 mph from the outfield, solid transfer, throws have carry. Graded out better as an outfielder. On the mound, long arm circle, over the top delivery, some extension, some finish, online delivery. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, fastball showed some arm side run and sink, changeup has some depth, maintains arm speed on changeup, curveball had 11/5 movement with some depth. Offensively, even stance, slightly open high hand set, high back elbow, some hand quickness, linear swing, up the middle approach, compact setup, line drive swing plane. Good student.
