Korey Shepard is a 2019 RHP/3B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Moreno Valley, CA who attends Valley View HS. Big athletic build with very good lower half strength, plenty of room to get stronger. Slow paced balanced delivery, mid 3/4's arm slot, long and clean arm action. Fastball topped at 84 mph early, mostly low 80's, gets good running and sinking life. Short sweeping slider, developing feel for a change up. Improving command and feel for his pitches will be key to his development. Right handed hitter, good shift into contact, has good bat speed and a long and strong swing, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared, hits to all fields. 7.40 runner, showed good athleticism at third base with a loose arm and soft hands. Very good student.
