Sam Runyan is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Hamilton, OH who attends Stephen T. Badin. Medium, athletic frame with solid present build--body projects yet as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.50 seconds. Sets up to hit from narrow-based stance, slightly open to start, toe tap trigger, long stride into contact, sinks hips moderately well into swing, shows smoothness to hand path on line drive swing plane. Demonstrated ability to work to all fields on a line, did a good job making adjustments with two strikes in game action, Worked out behind the plate; receives well and shows quickness to transfer, explodes out of crouch and stays low, very good footwork with athleticism and balance throughout. Good accuracy down to 2nd base, legitimate game-speed actions on display, popped as low as 2.03 seconds. Very good student; named to 2017 Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.
