LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Jason Brooke is a 2007 3B/P from Methacton High School in Collegeville, PA, with a 5'10'', 170 lb. frame. Defensively he has good third base actions with a good glove. Brooke has a solid arm across the diamond with accuracy. During the showcase games he showed good instincts and snuck behind a runner for the pickoff. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a big leg lift trigger. Brooke has very quick hands to the ball and shows bat speed through the zone. He makes very solid contact to the pull side and can drive the ball to the gaps with projectable power. He has the tools to hit well at the next level. Brooke also pitched at the event. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good arm action. Brooke works quickly on the mound and throws both of his pitches for strikes. His fastball topped out at 81 mph, but his best pitch is his curveball. It has late bite with a 12 to 5 break at 76 mph, and it is nasty at times. It is definitely his out pitch. Brooke is a two-way prospect that needs to be followed, and he is a good student as well.
