Patrick Winkel is a 2018 C/3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Orange, CT who attends Amity Regional HS. Slender young athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, shows strength in his swing with good bat speed and balance through contact, well timed and sees the ball well, has some lift, squares the ball up consistently and drives the gaps. Good fundamentals behind the plate, repeats his footwork well and makes very accurate throws, 1.95 in drills and 2.01-2.04 in games, will have to work on overall athletic quickness and explosion. Catcher with a good chance to hit. Good student, verbal commitment to Connecticut.
