Zachary Rodriguez is a 2020 OF/MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Vista Murrieta HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with long strides and works behind it, fields the ball out front, full and quick arm action through the back, generates some momentum through release, works on top of throws and shows carry and arm strength on throws with accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Utilizes a simple trigger with front foot for timing at the plate; stays short to the ball with hands and creates separation at point of contact. Repeats nicely, works the middle and pull side parts of the field with extension out front. Shows ability to elevate and has looseness to swing with consistent barreled contact, swung it well in live action. Very good student.
