Cody Dreis is a 2020 3B/RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Bishop Blanchet. Big and strong athlete, pretty mature physically. Moves well side to side and through the ball on defense, long and loose arm action from the backhand but can shorten and lower his slot moving left and in, very good arm strength and makes accurate throws, high level third base defensive potential. Right handed hitter, rotational swing with a middle of the field line drive approach, has strength in his hands and can make loud and hard contact, will get out on his front side early and get long at times, swings hard and projects as a hitter. Also pitched, has an on line delivery with a pause to gather at the top, 3/4's arm slot, well timed to release. Steady fastball up to 87 mph, mostly straight and consistently located at the bottom of the zone. Excellent change up with big run, nasty at times. Filled up the zone with both pitches, did not show a breaking ball. Solid all around athlete with skills and two-way potential at the next level. Very good student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect Team.
