Liam McHale is a 2019 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Cary, NC who attends Green Hope. Medium frame with solid present build, 7.60 runner in the 60. Primary pitcher who has a simple and repeatable delivery. Uses the lower half well with a small arm circle in the back and delivers from an over-the-top slot. Dominates the top half of the ball and commands the fastball well with plane and extension out front. Attacks hitters with fastball, which sits in the middle 70's, topping at 77 mph. Curveball has 2/7 shape and is commanded for strikes. Hits from a wider base with an even and upright stance. Fluid swing with ease and bat speed. Line drive hitter focused up-the-middle to the opposite-field with present gap power. Shows consistency to find the barrel and flashed the ability to turn on the ball with some authority. Reads hops and judges the ball well in the OF with a quick transition to throw, shows arm strength with carry and accuracy to the bases. At first base shows a deeper funnel with softer hands and sound footwork. Plays below the ball well and transitions to throw with smooth and easy actions. Good student.
